How to turn off the machine (for a leak or long-term vacation)?

  1. Go to the machine and locate the bypass on the back of the machine. (This is the two red arrows that are on top of where the water enters and leaves the machine)
  2. Once you see the arrows, you can rotate them both clockwise and have them point to each other (They only turn one way when flipping them into the off position)
  3. Once the arrows are turned into each other, you have now switched the machine from getting any water into the machine as well as giving your home any filtered water. (Keep in mind that you still will have access to water, it just will not be filtered for as long as you have the machine in bypass)
  4. After you put the machine in bypass, you can unplug the machine as well to prevent it from trying to do a future backwash.
  5. Once you are ready to turn the machine back on, slowly turn the arrows counterclockwise to allow the machine to get water going in and out of it once again.
  6. If the machine was unplugged, plug it back in and change the time to the time it is right now. To change the time, go to “How to change the time”.
  7. If the machine was turned off for a long period of time, a backwash may be needed to freshen up the water that was sitting in the machine. (To do this, look at the front of the machine and press and hold the second and third buttons, the up and down arrows, at the same time until you hear the machine start to work and you can let go. Allow the machine to do its full backwash. Keep in mind that the next backwash will be still set to go off at the regularly scheduled time)

What to do if you see an error message on the display (example E1)?

  1. Press and hold the first and third button at the same time on the front of the machine, that is the “SET” button and the down arrow. (Pressing these at the same time using your thumbs makes it easier to do)
  2. Continue to hold both buttons down until you see the display go blank and you can hear the machine start to reset itself.
  3. Once the machine is reset, you may need to change the time to the correct time, see “How to change the time”.
  4. If there continues to be an error message even after resetting the machine, please call the office for further instructions.

What to do if you have a blank display on your machine?

  1. Make sure that the machine itself is plugged in to a working outlet. (Sometimes power outages can cause an outlet to stop working, check the outlet itself by plugging in something else to it, like a phone charger, to see if it works)
  2. If the outlet is working and you have unplugged the machine and plugged it back in and the machine still doesn’t have a display, open the face of the machine by unclipping both sides.
  3. Once the face is off you will see the circuit board.
  4. Unplug the bottom right wire from the circuit board.
  5. Once unplugged, remove the small battery from the circuit board, located on the top left. (This can be done as easily as poking it out from the bottom with a pen.)
  6. Once the battery Is out, put it back in the exact way you had it.
  7. Once the battery is back in place, plug the wire you removed from the bottom of the circuit board back into the same place.
  8. This should power the machine back on and you can put the face back onto the front of the machine.
  9. From here you may need to change the time, to do this go to “How to change the time”.
  10. If this did not solve the problem, please give a call to the office for further instructions.
